Visiting Shanghai and Lanzhou

Posted by ming on March 19th, 2008

Usually when I get sent to China, I only get 1-2 weeks notice at the most. This time was no different. The only difference is that Michelle was determined to tag along this time. It works out great since she now has relatives in Shanghai and she can stay with them while I go to [...]

Conquering Mt. Hollywood

Posted by ming on February 13th, 2008

For people at our fitness level, climbing Mt. Hollywood might as well be Everest. After reassuring Michelle numerous times about how easy this “hike” is and how safe it will be, I was able to drag “city girl” up to the highest spot in LA. Wouldn’t really call it hiking. We gain a total of [...]

Vacationing in Japan, 2007 Edition.

Posted by ming on November 7th, 2007

We haven’t really gone anywhere all year. So this is our one big vacation of the year. Angela managed to tag along. The following is our adventure in Japan. I just cannot stress how clean Japan is. We will definitely be back in the future.

B&W through Michelle’s BORROWED eyes

Posted by michelle on June 26th, 2007

Admin: Not everyday I give the keys to the kingdom to someone else for them to mess around. But consider she’s my wife and all, I better give her an account. This is a collection of B&W photos I took at Sophie’s wedding. Ming insisted that I shall use the term “borrowed” eyes since I [...]

Sophia and James finally get around to getting married. They have only been together for, oh, forever plus one day. Anyway, congratulation. If the pictures don’t turn out very good, just remember I offer a full money back guarantee. (If I remember right, you two got the family discount package at $0). *click on the [...]

Visiting a Garden in the Middle of a Sewage Plant

Posted by ming on March 21st, 2007

I’ve always heard that there is a Japanese Garden in the park across the street. In fact I’ve gone past it many many times during my trips around the park. We actually tried going there at least two other times, but due to its odd hours on the weekends (only open from 10 AM-3 PM [...]

A Hard Habit to Break, My Regular Noodle Fix.

Posted by ming on March 13th, 2007

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for at least 20 years and I have this noodle at least once a month. Even though I live more than 50 miles away from it now, I still do make it there regularly. Never realized that I don’t have a picture of it until now. Usually too busy [...]

A little more drama

Posted by ming on January 29th, 2007

No no, not that kind of drama. I mean making more dramatic photos. Ever since I am able to take the flash unit off the camera, all kinds of possibilities opened up. On a rainy and cloudy day, we went out and tried something different. I had ten minutes before my model/assistant became tired and [...]

Portrait of a Photographer

Posted by ming on November 25th, 2006

So this is what I look like when I take photos. Not a pretty picture. Everything seems to be mushed into the camera. Oh well, you do what you need to do to get photos.

I am sure everyone has had this experience. You sit around trying to decide where and what to eat. Wouldn’t it be easier if the choices can just swim by? Hey, that’s exactly what happens in an aquarium! I’ll take that tuna there and that crab off on to side. Just kidding. The Aquarium of [...]
